I am studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University in Durham, NC, United States. It has been 4 years since ARROYO's creation.

While studying US History in my 10th Grade in 2013, I started thinking about the Rivers and their impact on our civilization. I thought of River Water as the global resource which belongs to everyone in the world. Thus, ARROYO took shape and sound.

ARROYO is not just a collection of music. It is the Global Voice to appreciate our Rivers and protect Water. Without Rivers and Water, there is no life.

I continue to be deeply connected to the environment. Apart of being involved in environmental protection activities, I aim to combine technology with environmental sustainability.

A River is the most significant source of water. All major civilizations evolved along the bank of the rivers throughout the world. Our lives shaped up as the rivers kept flowing. Art, music, dance, literature, theatre, food and shelter poured more meaning to the river water. During the journey, borders and boundaries divided the rivers and sadly, the blood spilled in the water too. The river still flows on.

arroyo is a droplet which strives to bring Seven Great Rivers of the world together as tributaries to a Global River in the form of music. It is an effort to offer voice to the common element of our rivers - Water. The seven rivers flow in all the geographies of the world - Mississippi, Nile, Amazon, Ganges, Congo, Danube and Yangtze.

This work of music is to appreciate and pay tributes to the great rivers of the world which shaped the entire humanity. The music is a unique fusion of local music specific to region where the river flows and medium & fast paced background with river water sounds. Each of the track provides a feeling of a global excursion through the River

arroyo was launched on Sept 09, 2013 at Beijing, China. The overall event was organized along with THIRST which is an NGO formed by the Global Young Leaders of the World Economic Forum. The event was joined by numerous people from different field including the attendees of the World Economic Forum.

The album was launched by Ms. Mina Guli (CEO & Founder THIRST) and Dr. Kurt Nordness (Director Dalian American International School).

The album has already been distributed freely among various schools in China, corporate executives globally, UNESCO leaders and members of various NGOs.

We shall keep on distributing the album around the world to create awareness of Water protection through music. The music can now be downloaded freely from this website as well.

The impact of the music is more powerful among the students in various schools along with their parents. It encouraged the youth to enjoy the music and also to think seriously about Water.

In the Fall 2013 edition of ISS (International Schools Services, NJ), my school - Dalian American International School secured a big coverage describing the environmental activities including ARROYO launch and distribution.
